Managing Menu Availability

You have several options for setting when your Porter Menu is available to customers: Open; Follow Square Business Hours; Closed; or Paused.

Your Porter Menu can be set to any of the following:

  1. "Open" - Your Porter Menu is ALWAYS active and available to customers, regardless of what business hours you have set in Square. This is the default setting when you first create your Porter Vendor account and IF you do not have any business hours set in Square.
  2. "Follow Square Business Hours" - Your Porter Menu turns on and off based on the opening and closing times you've set in Square. For more information on how to set business hours in Square see this Support Center article.
  3. "Paused" - Whether you are following the business hours set in Square or have your menu set to "Open," you can pause the availability of your Porter Menu in 15-minute increments. Your Porter Menu will turn back on automatically once the pause time is exhausted.
  4. "Closed" - Your Porter Menu is ALWAYS off (unavailable to customers), regardless of what business hours you have set in Square. To re-activate your Porter Menu, you'll need to choose either "Open" or "Follow Square Business Hours."

To toggle between these options, please follow the following steps:
  1. Sign in to your Porter Vendor Dashboard at app.orderwithporter.com/login
  2. Click on the Menu status bar for the location you wish to manage.Vendor Dashboard hours
  3. Select the option you wish and click the purple "Confirm" button. To Pause menus, use the "+" and "-" buttons next to the "Pause" option to temporarily turn your menus off in 15-minute increments. (IMPORTANT NOTE: If you select the "Pause" option, your menus will turn back "On" automatically after the selected amount of pause time.)

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The selection you make for the availability of your Porter Menu will be effective in ALL groups of which you are a member.
  • If you do NOT have any business hours set in Square, you will not see the "Follow Square Business Hours" option. Once you set business hours in Square (if you choose to do so) this option will become available.
